Ruthenium-based catalysts supported on carbon xerogels for hydrogen production via ammonia decomposition

چکیده
Carbon xerogels were synthesised and used as support of ruthenium-based catalysts for the ammonia decomposition reaction. To improve their physical-chemical properties, carbon either activated in dioxide atmosphere (for 1 5 h), or doped with nitrogen via co-precursor method, using urea source. Un-promoted sodium-promoted ruthenium prepared by incipient wetness impregnation. All tested during reaction (1 atm, 100–600 °C), showing high catalytic activity. The h activation treatment resulted a decrease oxygen surface groups (i.e. 11 wt%) on surface, an increase structure crystallinity 15% TBurn) xerogels, resulting higher rate 3.5-fold at 450 °C). Similarly, addition to had positive effect basicity, enhancing performance triple sodium conferred enhancement each catalyst up 9 times Two runs performed all catalysts, test reproducibility catalysts. It was found that un-promoted exhibited rates 3.5 °C) second run due larger particle size, whereas similar activity both presence oxide avoiding sintering particles.

Cobalt-based Catalysts for Ammonia Decomposition
An effect of promoters such as calcium, aluminium, and potassium oxides and also addition of chromium and manganese on the structure of cobalt catalysts was examined. Studies of the catalytic ammonia decomposition over the cobalt catalysts are presented. The studies of the ammonia decomposition were carried out for various ammonia-hydrogen mixtures in which ammonia concentration varied in the r...
متن کاملCarbon Supported Cu and TiO2 Catalysts Applied for Ozone Decomposition
In this article a comparison was made between Cu and TiO2 supported catalysts on activated carbon for ozone decomposition reaction. The activated carbon support in the case of TiO2/AC sample was prepared by physicochemical pyrolysis and for Cu/AC samples the supports are chemically modified carbons. The prepared catalysts were synthesized by impregnation method. The samples were annealed in two...
متن کاملHydrogen production via steam reforming of LPG on Ni/Zeolite catalysts
Steam reforming is one of the most important processes for producing hydrogen from hydrocarbon fuels such as LPG and has attracted much attention due to its high efficiency and economy. In this study, the LPG steam reforming reaction was investigated on nickel catalysts supported on four various zeolites (H-Y, Na-Y, HZSM5 and Ferrierite). The catalytic tests were performed in a tubular fixed be...
متن کاملStructure Sensitivity of Reactions between Cyclopropane and Hydrogen on Supported Ruthenium Catalysts
Reaction (1) is called “hydrogenation,” reaction (2) “selective hydrocracking,” and reaction (3) “nonselective hydrocracking.” On Pd, It-, and Pt only reaction (1) is observed, while Co, Rh, and OS are active for reactions (1) and (2), and Fe, Ni, and Ru are able to catalyze all three reactions (I-5). The structure sensitivity of the three cyclopropane reactions on Ru catalysts has not yet been...
